The Schuylkill County Historical Society has announced the following upcoming event:

The Local Reads Book Club will discuss “Growin’ up Skook,” a humorous memoir about 1960s Ashland, at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 28, with author Thomas H. Malafarina at the Schuylkill County Historical Society, 305 N. Centre St., Pottsville.
