August 20, 1970 — Summit Hill explodes for seven runs in the eighth inning to upset Jim Thorpe 10-4 in the completion of a Panther Valley Little League tournament game. The two clubs were tied 3-3 the day before when darkness ended the contest. Just two frames into the completion, the Hillers bat around and pick up eight hits. Kerry Lesniak delivers the biggest blow in the eighth — a three-run homer. Stan Kozuch knocks in what proves to be the winning run and finishes with a pair of hits. Lesniak ends with three hits, while Ed Cinicola and Dave Derby both add two.
