Slatedale fire company picnic

Slatedale Fire Company had its annual Community Picnic recently. The event was interrupted by rain but there was a nice turnout of residents. They were able to move most things indoors once the storm started. The Slatedale Fire Police assisted in getting everything in order for the picnic to run smoothly. From left, Marie Kistler and volunteer Cindy Bretzik sold tickets for their basket raffle. PATRICIA INGLES/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS

Right: Once the storm stopped, Slatedale was able to conduct its Cow Plop Bingo, which consists of a field with 2-foot by 2-foot squares. Each ticket was $10 per square. The star of the bingo was Viper the cow, owned by Parker Haydt. Viper did his business on Rosie Wanamaker Ellicott’s square. She won $700 and gave a portion back to the fire company. CONTRIBUTED PHOTO
