West End Fair closes for the day

Opening day was cut short for the West End Fair because of the inclement weather.

The fair made the announcements just before 4 p.m.

Fireworks scheduled for tonight have been postponed to Thursday at 9:30 p.m.

The fair was open long enough for Giavanna Ukaj of Stroudsburg to be crowned as fair queen.

She is the daughter of Benny and Rosemary Ukaj and attends Bethlehem Catholic high school.

Rain is expected to continue through the evening with a flood watch in effect.

The fair will reopen Monday with free rides from 2 to 6 p.m.

Entertainment will include Last One Standing at 3 and 4:15 p.m.; Pleasant Valley Band at 5:30 p.m.; junk car race at 7 p.m. and The Cramer Brothers Band at 7 and 8:30 p.m.
