Pocono Mtn. Police seek driver in hit-and-run fatality

Pocono Mountain Regional Police are looking for information in a hit-and-run crash that resulted in the death of a Mount Pocono man Friday night in Coolbaugh Township, Monroe County.

Police said Anthony Giovanni Rodriguez, 26, was driving a motorcycle when he was hit at 10:56 p.m. at the intersection of Memorial Boulevard (Route 611) and Cayuga Drive in Tobyhanna.

Police said bystanders reported a vehicle struck the motorcycle and fled the scene.

Rodriguez died at the scene.

Police said Rodriguez was traveling north on Route 611 and a vehicle traveling south crossed the road and hit him.

The vehicle was determined to be a silver 2015-1017 Toyota Camry. Police said the vehicle traveled through the Pocono Farms development on Cayuga to Kilmer to Goose Pond and then onto Green Road

The last known location was Route 196 northbound by Green Road. The vehicle sustained heavy damage, including the loss of the grille, a headlight assembly and pieces of its front bumper.

Anyone with information and/or video of the crash or vehicle is asked to contact police at 570-992-9911 and cite incident number 24-008750.
