PSP Hazleton incidents
State police at the Hazleton barracks reported the following incidents:
• A 56-year-old Weatherly man was cited for harassment by physical contact after police responded to a domestic incident at 9:11 p.m. Aug. 3 at a property on Quakake Road in Packer Township.
Police said the other person involved was an 83-year-old woman from Weatherly, who reported the man pushed her.
• An arrest warrant on a charge of theft of a motor vehicle was issued against a 38-year-old Sugarloaf woman after police were called to an incident at 9:04 a.m. Aug. 2 at a property on East Maple Street in Tresckow, Banks Township. Police said the woman stole a 2011 Cadillac SRX from a garage at the property. Police said she drove the vehicle through the garage door, causing significant structural damages. The vehicle was located unoccupied about an hour later by officers from the Hazleton City Police Department.
• Joel Alvarado-Vargas, 38, of McAdoo, was cited after a two-vehicle crash at 7:06 p.m. Aug. 1 on Harwood Road in Hazle Township.
Police said he was driving a 2017 Subaru Impreza when he attempted to make a U-turn to travel east. His vehicle was struck by a 1993 Harley-Davidson operated by Nathan J. Vajda, 21, of Hazle Township, police said.
The Impreza was able to be driven from the scene while the cycle had to be towed.
Police said both drivers were uninjured in the incident.
• A 38-year-old Tresckow man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol. Police said he was driving a 2006 Subaru in the area of East Market and North Chestnut streets in Tresckow when he was taken into custody and transported to the state police barracks in Hazleton for processing. It happened at 3:50 a.m. June 22.
