State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following incidents:
• Police said $20,000 was stolen from a 70-year-old Albrightsville woman in a theft by deception incident they responded to at 9 a.m. Aug. 6 at a property on Fox Hill Road, Penn Forest Township.
Police said the woman received a “Microsoft” fraud alert on her laptop computer telling her to withdraw the money from her bank and someone would meet with her and keep her money in a safe-deposit box until her identity was cleared. The victim became suspicious and notified police.
• A 16-year-old Saylorsburg boy was arrested on charges of simple assault and harassment after police responded to a physical domestic altercation after which a 15-year-old girl from Bangor was hospitalized, police said.
The incident occurred 2:26 p.m. Aug. 4 at a property in the 2500 block of Rising Sun Drive, Chestnuthill Township.
Police said it was determined the boy struck his girlfriend multiple times in the face, causing her to become briefly unresponsive. She was transported by emergency medical services personnel to an area hospital for facial injuries and suspected heat injuries, police said.
They said the boy was taken into custody and transported by personnel from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department to the Northampton County Juvenile Justice Center, pending court action.
• Police responded to a death report at 4:33 a.m. July 20 in the area of Cays Road, Jackson Township.
It was determined a 55-year-old man from Stroudsburg died of natural causes, police said.
