PSP Schuylkill Haven crashes

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks reported the following crashes:

• Melanie A. Kapushinsky, 55, of Hazleton, was uninjured in a one-vehicle mishap at 2:13 p.m. Aug. 7 on Blue Mountain Road in Port Clinton.

Police said she was driving a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound when she lost control of the vehicle. The Jeep traveled off the left side of the road and struck a guide rail. It had to be towed from the scene.

• Five people, including four youths, were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 1:35 p.m. July 29 on Route 61 in North Manheim Township.

They were transported by personnel from the Pottsville/Schuylkill Haven Area EMS unit to the Geisinger-St. Luke’s Hospital near Orwigsburg.

Police said that Shaniya U. McShaw, 26, and four youths, ages 9, 6, 4 and one under age 1, all from Pottsville, had minor injuries.

The crash occurred, police said, when a 2023 Acura driven by Jorge Polanco, 47, of Whitehall, traveling north, attempted to change lanes and struck a 2015 GMC Acadia operated by Kayla A. McShaw, 21, also of Pottsville.

Police said that both drivers were uninjured in the incident.

• Gregory T. Spraggins Jr., 34, of Philadelphia, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 11:24 a.m. July 7 on Hawk Mountain Road in West Brunswick Township.

Police said he was driving a 1993 Mazda westbound when he lost control of the car, which hit an embankment, spun and came to rest in the westbound lane. The car was towed from the scene.

Police said Spraggins was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
