Richard Marx, set to perform at Mount Airy Casino Resort later this month, leads the pack of entertainment highlights coming to local and regional venues over the next few weeks.

The singer-songwriter, who scored seven consecutive top five singles on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart in the late 1980s, also co-wrote hits by other artists.

Such credits include early-2000s hits by N’SYNC (“This I Promise You”) and Luther Vandross (“Dance With My Father”).

Among other events, Penn’s Peak will host the Southern rock of Little Feat, while The Mahoning Drive-In Theater celebrates 25 years of “The Blair Witch Project.”

For the latter, co-director Eduardo Sanchez will attend one of two screenings set for the 1994 breakout hit.

• Little Feat, 8 p.m. Aug. 18. Formed in 1969 in Los Angeles, the Southern rock band features co-founder Bill Payne, plus longtime members Sam Clayton, Kenny Gradney and Fred Tackett, among others. With 17 studio albums to its credit, Little Feat’s hits include “Hate to Lose Your Lovin’,” “Let it Roll” and “Texas Twister.” The group released its first studio album in 12 years, and first blues set, “Sam’s Place,” in May.

• Travis Tritt, 8 p.m. Aug. 23. The country singer, a native of Marietta, Georgia, released his debut studio album in 1990. Tritt — who scored 20 top 10 hits at country radio, including five No. 1s — released his first studio album in nearly 14 years, “Set in Stone,” in 2021.

• Vic DiBitetto, 6:30 p.m. Aug. 30. Born in Brooklyn, New York, the comedian started his stand-up career in 1981. DiBitetto, known for his numerous YouTube videos, appeared in the 2015 film “Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2” and the Amazon Prime series “Gravesend.”

• Back To The Woods: A “Blair Witch Project” 25th Anniversary Fan Event, Aug. 16 and 17. The theater will screen Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sanchez’s 1999 film “The Blair Witch Project,” which ushered in a wave of “found footage” movies. Sanchez will attend Aug. 17. Matt Blazi, who authored making-of book “8 Days in the Woods,” will also attend. A second feature will follow the film on both nights. Gates pen at 6 p.m.; show time at sundown.

• Mahoning Music Series: “The Blues Brothers,” Aug. 18. The event will include a screening of John Landis’ 1980 film “The Blues Brothers,” starring John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. Gates open at 5 p.m. for a vinyl-record market, with a DJ set until show time at sundown .

• Walt’s Animation Vault, Aug. 23 and 24. The theater will host 35 mm screenings of two Disney animated classics: 1992’s “Aladdin” and 1994’s “The Lion King.” The films will screen both nights. Gates open at 6 p.m.; show time at sundown.

• Camp Blood X: The Ultimate “Friday the 13th” Fan Event, Aug. 29-Sept. 1. All 10 films in the original “Friday the 13th” franchise will screen. Stars Adrienne King and Amy Steel will attend Aug. 30 and 31. The event will also include vendors and cosplay. Gates open at 6 p.m. Aug. 29 and Sept. 1, and 4 p.m. Aug. 30 and 31. Show time at sundown.

• Trapt, 6 p.m. Aug. 18. Formed in California, the rock band scored its biggest hit with 2002 debut single “Headstrong.” Trapt, released ninth studio album “The Fall” in May. A cookout precedes the show.

• ’90s Alternative Rock Show, 7:30 p.m. Aug. 24. The show will include covers of hits by Alice in Chains, Bush, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Live, Fuel, R.E.M. and more.

• Dogstar, 8 p.m. Aug. 17. Formed in 1991 in Los Angeles, the alternative rock trio — whose lineup includes actor Keanu Reeves — released its third studio album, “Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees,” in 2023.

• Sublime With Rome, 8 p.m. Aug. 22. The ska alternative rock group, featuring former Sublime members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh, formed in 2010 in California. Sublime With Rome, also featuring Rome Ramirez, released its fourth and final album in May.

• The Commodores and The Spinners, 8 p.m. Aug. 24. Funk/soul group the Commodores, formed in 1968 in Tuskegee, Alabama, scored hit singles such as “Easy,” “Brick House” and “Lady (You Bring Me Up).” Formed in 1954 in Detroit, The Spinners scored hit singles such as “I’ll Be Around,” “Could It Be I’m Falling in Love” and “The Rubberband Man.”

• Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias, 6:30 and 10 p.m. Aug. 30. Born in San Diego, California, the comedian set out to hone his comedic skills in 1997. Iglesias, who has numerous TV and film appearances to his credit, has starred in three Netflix stands-up specials.
