Kathleen Polastre of Weatherly was hired as the elementary school principal in the Panther Valley School District last evening at a salary of $26,000 for a 240-day contact which includes 230 work days.

Mrs. Polastre has been teaching for 14 years and has taught in the Weatherly Area School District since 1973.

She is a 1969 graduate of Lourdes Regional High School, Shamokin, who received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1972 from Bloomsburg University, a master’s degree in 1982 and her elementary principal’s certification in 1986, both from the University of Scranton.
