Palmerton annual Sidewalk Sale takes place this weekend
Maybe you’re in the hunt for that unique article of clothing to stash away in your closet.
Or, perhaps you’re on the prowl for a new piece of furniture to liven up your home décor.
Whatever the case may be, there are bargains just waiting to be had at the Palmerton Sidewalk Sale.
The annual excursion of thriftiness at its finest will run Thursday through Saturday in the hub of the borough’s downtown shopping district.
The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
There will be local vendors on the sidewalks along Delaware Avenue who are more than eager to showcase their various wares.
Two wineries, several food trucks and local artisans from the community will set up, as stores will be putting on sales, according to Dana Massey, owner of My Store.
Massey, an event coordinator for the sale, said several businesses have confirmed their participation, such as Hager Furniture Co., Palmerton Flowers & Gifts, Beach Bronzed Tanning Salon, the Hippie Shop, Opal’s on 5th and My Store.
Massey said the local community was glad to see last year’s event resemble what it previously had been.
“That was our goal last year: to try to bring it back,” Massey said. “This year, we’re trying to build on that and make it even bigger.”
Massey added the goal is to make it a solid community event.
“We’re trying to support the community and keep all the shopping districts open, and it helps local people not to have to travel,” she said. “If we don’t shop small, our local businesses don’t exist.”
Massey said any vendors interested in participating in the Sidewalk Sale may email mystore1@ptd.net.
