The Lansford Borough Civil Service Commission reorganized last Monday morning, with John Turcmanovich selected as chairman of the three-man board.
Steven Foster was selected as the vice chair, with Thomas Dahl selected as secretary. Borough council will be notified that the commission has reorganized and asked to send any requests for service to the commission.
Turcmanovich said that as soon as the commission hears from council, another meeting will be scheduled.
The commission understands that the borough received at least three applications from prospective police officers, and asks council to contact them to see if they are still interested and testing will be performed, Turcmanovich said.
The commission will also request additional tests from the state to be able to proceed with the testing processing, he said.
Turcmanovich thanked Jerry Scaran, longtime commission member, for his decades of service, and asked that council send him a letter formally thanking him.
He also thanked council for providing a borough secretary to record the session, which the commission had not had previously.
