The Schuylkill County Historical Society has announced the following upcoming events.

• The society will present a Roaring ‘20s night beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 17, at Main Street Moonshine, 101 W. Main St., Schuylkill Haven.

Activities include Charleston lessons, a ‘20s costume contest, photo op with a 1925 Model T Ford, basket raffle and a 6:30 p.m. trivia contest. For more information, call the society at 570-622-7540.

• The Local Reads Book Club will discuss “Growin’ up Skook,” a humorous memoir about 1960s Ashland, at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 28, with author Thomas H. Malafarina at the Schuylkill County Historical Society, 305 N. Centre St., Pottsville.
