Broad Mountain Area Republican Chairman Harrison M. Henritzy of Weatherly has resigned that post and other party positions, and Edward T. Dodson, also of Weatherly, has been appointed area chairman.

The resignation and appointment were announced today by Bud Angst, Carbon County Republican Party chairman.

Due to failing health, Harrison also resigned as assistant secretary of the county party, a member of its executive committee and second ward committeeman in Weatherly.

Henritzy, affectionately known as “Scoop,” had been a longtime member of the news department of the Standard Speaker newspaper, Hazleton.
