Mr. and Mrs. Barry Smith celebrated their 50th anniversary on July 27. They were married at St. Matthew’s UCC in Kunkletown by the Rev. Gerald Miller.

Mrs. Smith is the former Debra Sherer, daughter of the late Helen (Bruch) and Granville Sherer of Kresgeville.

Mr. Smith is the son of the Elizabeth (Heiny) and late Franklin Smith and stepson of Donna Smith of Saylorsburg.

The couple has two children, son, Benjamin and wife Wanda of Lehighton and daughter, Adrienne wife of Matthew Meckes of Kunkletown.

They were blessed with four grandchildren: Kaitlin Smith of Scranton, Brittney Smith of Lehighton, Alanda, wife of Jacob Gross of Slatington, and Seth Smith of Lehighton; and two great granddaughters, Freya Mae Gross, and Kennedy Monroe Stadtmueller.

They celebrated their milestone with family and friends with a surprise party at Aquashicola Fire Company.
