State police at Lehighton incidents
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:
• A 27-year-old Philadelphia man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police made a traffic stop at 2:11 a.m. Aug. 4.
He was stopped in a 2011 Honda Accord for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Fireline Road in Lower Towamensing Township.
• A 42-year-old Saylorsburg woman is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after police made a traffic stop at 1:17 a.m. Aug. 1.
She was stopped in a 2006 Honda Civic for a Motor Vehicle Code violation on Silver Valley Road in Chestnuthill Township.
• Police said a 47-year-old woman from Saylorsburg is the victim of a theft of services incident they were called to at 10:57 a.m. July 31 at a property on Interchange Road in Towamensing Township.
Police said she told them she sent $400 via her personal PayPal account as a down payment for an assumed purchase of a vehicle, only to fund out the funds were being sent to a fraudulent account.
• Police were called to a criminal mischief incident at 5:18 p.m. July 29 at 663 Dotter’s Corner Road, Polk Township.
Miriam Costa, 77, of Kunkletown, reported damage estimated at $50 to her mailbox.
• A 31-year-old Lansford woman is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 1:50 a.m. July 28.
She was stopped in a for multiple Title 75 offenses on Fireline Road in Lower Towamensing Township.
• Police were called to a theft incident at 8:06 p.m. July 25 at 514 White St., Bowmanstown.
Jennifer Wertman, 53, of Bowmanstown, reported a suspect gained access to a shed on her property and stole tools worth approximately $2,500.
They include a trimmer, blower, impact driver, grinder, socket set and batteries, all Milwaukee brand items.
• Police took a 40-year-old man into custody on a warrant at 5:19 p.m. July 20 on Heiney Lane in Polk Township.
They said he was stopped in a 1998 Ford because officers knew there was an outstanding warrant out against him. After being taken into custody, police found the man to be in possession of a controlled substance, police said.
• A 61-year-old Lehighton man is the victim of a theft by deception incident at 6:28 p.m. July 13 on Thomas Jefferson Road in East Penn Township.
Police said he told them his identity was used to make purchases through a Home Depot credit account.
• A 47-year-old Kunkletown woman is the victim is an identity theft case police are investigating.
They were called at 8:13 p.m. July 22 to a property on Scenic Drive in Polk Township to investigate the incident.
