Hill Road in Jim Thorpe is closed due to power lines down in the immediate area. PPL is reporting 245 customers without power in Carbon County as of 7:45 a.m., with some outages in East Penn, Jim Thorpe, Lower Towamensing, Palmerton, Summit Hill and Towamensing. The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the area and said there is a risk of tornadoes as Tropical Storm Debby moves through the area today.
