August 2, 1982 — Gene Snisky blasts a two-run homer and Ted Shober turns in a solid performance on the mound to help Nesquehoning register a 7-2 victory over Franklin Township in a Panther Valley Little League tournament contest. Snisky connects with a teammate aboard in the second inning that doubles a 2-0 lead to 4-0. Shober scatters six hits over six innings. The winners also receive RBI singles from Don McGorry and Joe Pavlik, while Scott Newton adds an RBI ground out. Snisky and Bob Sluck both collect two hits for Nesquehoning.
