West End

At the fair

State Rep. Jack Rader has invited his constituents to come visit him and staff at the West End Fair in Gilbert from Aug. 18 to 24.

Missed movie?

If you missed the Fourth Friday Free Family Fun Film at St. Peter’s UMC in Saylorsburg this past Friday, do not fret. Another movie will be shown on the big outdoor screen on Aug. 23.

The public is welcome to join the church family behind the church “to enjoy an evening of family togetherness.”

Folks are reminded to bring a lawn chair or blanket for one’s viewing comfort is St. Peter’s advice. The church is located at 924 Route 115, Saylorsburg.

Pavilion concert

Effort UMC is having a pavilion concert on Sept. 7. Food will be available. A freewill offering will be accepted for the evening’s musician(s).

St. Matt’s history

St. Matthew’s “family” and friends, whether near or far, are asked to share pictures and memories they have of the church’s history by dropping (or mailing) items in the boxes in the narthex or on the Round Table in the common room. Please mark the items with name or leave copies with the church.

The deadline is Sept. 8, which is the same day as the church band and breakfast. The same event is canceled for Sept. 29.
