The identity of the person who died after a one-car crash Tuesday night in Polk Township has been released.

Monroe County Coroner Tom Yanac Jr. identified the person as Thomas Van Horn, 61, of Kunkletown.

Trooper Anthony Petroski III, public information officer, community services officer, Pennsylvania State Police, Hazleton barracks, said the crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. along Daisy Lane when Van Horn lost control of the vehicle due to a high rate of speed.

Petroski said Van Horn was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead on scene.

Yanac said 11:14 p.m. was the time of death.
