Lehighton middle school presents student awards

The Lehighton Area Middle School held its Academic and Distinguished Award program on June 11.

Outstanding student and outstanding effort awards were presented by each team. The awards were presented to the following:

• Team 6 Maroon: English Language Arts, Rylee Keller; Math, Alyssa Gaumer; Science, Olive Hunt; Geography, Connor Solt; STEAM, Carter Spotts; Most Creative, Ava Angelus and Lucy Versuk; Most Improved, Payton Borger and Kaiden Simmons; Outstanding Effort, Carter Spotts and Bree Yeakel; and American Citizenship, Bianca Carlino;

• The Eighth Grade Good Citizenship Award from Sen. David G. Argall’s office was awarded to Santiago Lopez and Kennedy Quinn.

• What’s So Cool About Manufacturing “Best Career & Technical Education Story” Award was presented to Kingsley Cruz, Kiersten Diehl, Alexis Gelatko, Luke Haydt, Quinn Haydt, Olive Hunt, Rylee Keller, Philip Krupa, Lucinda Sander and Connor Stay.
