A fire police group is the most recent recipient of a donation from a Palmerton organization.
Crusaders For A Cause Inc. made a $400 donation to the Palmerton Municipal Fire Police.
The donation will go toward four VHF/UHF multi-band walkie-talkies capable of communicating with the police, the ambulance and the fire department, giving them communications now between all emergency services.
In addition, they also received eight LED free standing and magnetic road flares, eliminating the need for the more dangerous flaming type that was previously used.
Several members of the Palmerton Municipal Fire Police expressed their appreciation for the new equipment.
“This means a lot to us to be able to communicate with all services,” said Walter Haas, the captain of the fire police.
Jason White, lieutenant of the fire police, concurred.
“We really appreciate the donation tremendously, and thanked them for the donation they also gave the fire police last year,” White said.
