Prospective shoppers who want to get a look at the Marshalls store in Mahoning Township can do so next month.

The store set to open at 1241 Blakeslee Blvd. Drive East will hold its grand opening from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Aug. 22, the company announced its website.

Earlier this month, the store said it was hiring full- and part-time workers, with the rate of pay $13 to $14 per hour.

The Marshalls occupies the space where the former Mahoning Valley 8 — formerly Mahoning Valley Cinema — was until it closed in September at the Carbon Plaza Mall.

Marshalls is a chain of off-price department stores owned by TJX Companies, and has over 1,000 American stores.
