Towamensing wins PVLL 9-11 crown

Towamensing recently completed an undefeated run to the 9-11-year-old title in the Panther Valley Little League Tournament.

Towamensing rolled to a 14-4 win over Franklin Township on Sunday.

Mason Burger was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a pair of runs scored for the winners, who went 4-0 in the tournament. Lucas Sutton (two RBIs, two runs scored), Wesley Good (three RBIs, two runs scored) and Bryce Baumgardt (triple, two RBIs, two runs scored) all had a pair of hits for Towamensing. Good struck out nine in four innings of work to earn the win.

In four games of the tournament, Towamensing outscored opponents 50-21, including a pair of wins over Tamaqua (6-5 and 17-10). Tamaqua had defeated Towamensing 23-2 in districts in June.
