Free films return
St. Peter’s UMC, Saylorsburg, has announced its Free Family Fun Films have returned.
The church in Saylorsburg will show movies on the outdoor big screen beginning at dusk tomorrow and again on Aug. 23.
The July movie is “Second-Hand Lions,” starring Haley Joe Osment, Michael Caine and Robert Duvall.
The public is welcome to join the congregation behind the church building to enjoy an evening of family togetherness.
Guests are asked to bring a lawn chair or blanket for viewing comfort.
St. Peter’s UMC is located at 924 Route 115, Saylorsburg.

Guest musicians
The women’s chorus of Adult and Teen Challenge will be at St. Peter’s UMC, Saylorsburg, during the church’s 9 a.m. worship service on Sunday.
The choir welcomes the public to hear their testimonies and to realize the dependency on substances is no match for the Great Power.

The Great Journey Jungle Vacation Bible School will be held from 6 to 8:15 p.m., July 29 through Aug. 1 at Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church, Brodheadsville for children 4 years old to those entering sixth grade in the fall.
It is set to include an epic cruise from Genesis to Revelation and sail through the seven C’s of history via Swinging Songs, Animal Pals, Bible Passages, Tree-mendous Crafts and Science, Rainforest Recreation, Canopy Cafe Snacks, Nightly Prizes and much more, including the church’s green parrot Eden and the pink river dolphin Rose.

Band performance
The Mette Family Catholic Band will be performing at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Gilbert in the pavilion.

Zinc City’s 17th
Zinc City Motorcycle Club, Route 209, Kresgeville, is holding its 17th Annual Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show with Flea Market on Aug. 4. Registration is from 9 a.m. to noon. Show and flea market at 2 p.m.

There will be door prizes, 50/50, and awards, including Club Choice and People’s Choice.

Pizza orders due
The deadline for ordering “take and bake” pizza at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Effort is Aug. 4. Pickup and paying for order (cash only) is from 4 to 5 p.m. at the church on Aug. 9.
Final look
Pleasant Valley Presbyterian Church, Brodheadsville, near the Western Pocono Community Library, will finish the July sermon series by Interim Pastor Lori Phinney, based on Revelation, with the topic “One Final Look.”
The August sermon series: “To Ephesus and Beyond” will begin on Aug. 4 with “What Can You Do?” and Psalm 51:1-13 and Ephesians 4:1-16 serving as the scriptural references.
The Brodheadsville church’s Sunday worship service, a blended contemporary service, begins at 10 a.m.
A coffee fellowship time follows the worship service.
Eldred pantry
Providing food to those in need and serving the West End of Monroe County and neighboring towns is the food pantry located at the Eldred Community Center in Kunkletown.
Distribution days are on the first and third Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers are welcome for set up and clean up.
Fall raffle event
The Buena Vista Cemetery of Brodheadsville organization has announced its basket raffle taking place at the West End Firehouse on Route 715 in Brodheadsville on Nov. 2.
Doors will open at 1 p.m. The drawing will be at 3 p.m. Refreshments will be available.
