Local Roundup: Results from July 21

Franklin Township captured the Panther Valley Little League tournament 8-10 championship Sunday after defeating Jim Thorpe.

Franklin Township pounded out 24 hits en route to a 13-3 victory over Jim Thorpe.

The win allowed FT to finish the Panther Valley Little League tournament undefeated at 6-0 and claim the tourney title.

Dean Kuhns went 4-for-4 with three runs for Franklin, who broke the game open with a five-run third inning. Winning pitcher Jake Kistner added three hits, two RBIs and a pair of runs, while Owen Shaner ended 3-for-4 with a double, a run and two RBIs.

Leadoff hitter Brantley Brungard contributed three hits and two runs. Grayson Shupp and Nolan Kotch both chipped in with a pair of hits and a run, with Shupp also knocking in two runs. Christian Snyder reached base three times with a hit and two walks, scored twice and had an RBI.

Kistner allowed three hits and struck out six in his 3 2/3 innings of work.
