The Rush Township board of supervisors will likely award a bid for fencing at a proposed organic recycling facility to a Reading-based firm.
Pro Max Fence Systems’ bid for $64,164 was the only one received and was opened at Thursday’s board meeting.
Supervisors voted to award it pending review by township engineer William McMullen.
The facility will be on land at 54 Progress Ave. in the Tidewood Industrial Park. Plans are to have it operational by 2026.
Also during the meeting, the board adopted a resolution to authorize its secretary to testify before the Schuylkill County Board of Assessment Appeals as to the use of the land when called upon.
In other business, the board:
• Designated Tamaqua Ambulance as the primary basic life support provider for areas in the township currently served by the Ryan Township Ambulance.
• Entered into a contract with ARRO Water Services as the licensed operator of record with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection for the Lake Hauto/Hometown sanitary sewer system.
• Accepted the police department’s June activities report, which included responding to 51 complaints; and issuing seven parking tickets and 41 traffic and non-traffic citations.
