Mr. and Mrs. Terrell Engle celebrate golden anniversary

Retired SFC Terrell K. Sr. and Sharlene (Lilly) Engle are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today.

Lifelong residents of Bowmanstown, Terry and Sharlene were married in the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Northampton on July 20, 1974.

They are the parents of son, Terrell K. Engle Jr., of Morrisville, NC, and daughter, Heather and her husband Joe McDonough of Lehighton. They love their four grandchildren, Lily Mae, Connor Joseph, and Ella Mae McDonough of Lehighton, and Wyatt James Engle of Cary, NC.

Terry is retired after serving 32 years in the military. He served 12 years in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard in Lehighton and then 20 years full-time Army at Fort Indiantown Gap in Annville. He enjoys gardening and decorating his yard for the different holidays of the year.

Sharlene retired after working 10 years at Kmart as an appliance manager. Prior to that she worked numerous jobs including 16 years in the Palmerton Area School District cafeteria. Sharlene enjoys reading, crocheting, painting and ceramics.

Their favorite pastime is spending time with their children and grandchildren.
