Route 54 in Barnesville will be closed for five days to allow for repairs to a railroad crossing near the Barnesville Post Office.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said repairs to the Reading Blue Mountain and Northern Railroad crossing will tentatively begin on Monday and will be finished on July 26.

The crossing is near the intersection of Route 54 and Grier Avenue in Rush Township.

Signs announcing the closure and the detour route have been posted.

The detour will take motorists on Route 309 and Interstate 81.
