Local Roundup: Results from July 18
Tamaqua and Towamensing both posted wins in the Panther Valley Little League Tournament on Thursday.
PVLL 11-12 TOURNEY
Anthracite-Tamaqua
The Tamaqua 12s scored seven runs in the fourth inning to break a tie score and went on to post a 14-5 victory over Anthracite.
Kellen Krajcirik led the winners offensively with three hits, one a double, and four RBIs. Tamaqua also received a double and triple from Chayse Barron, who knocked in two runs and scored once.
Jaxon Faneck contributed a pair of hits, a run and an RBI, while Aiden Smith reached base all three times with a hit and two walks, scored twice and had two RBIs.
Cain Conner tossed 4 2/3 innings, allowing just one hit and no earned runs. He walked three and struck out three.
For Anthracite, Cooper Lynn had a hit and two RBIs.

JT-Towamensing
Towamensing cruised to an 11-1 victory over Jim Thorpe.
Brody Mertz had two hits and knocked in a run to lead the Towamensing offense.
Nicholas Zulic finished with a hit, two runs and two RBIs, while Luke Machalik added a double, two runs and an RBI.
The winners also received a double and two runs from Charlie Borger. Derek Thomas and Brady Ivancich both chipped in with a hit, a run and an RBI.
For Thorpe, Parker Grant had two hits and a run.
Machalik pitched two scoreless innings, striking out four, for Towamensing.
