Pennsylvania State Police in Stroudsburg are investigating the theft of drugs from a property on Fawn Valley Park in Hamilton Township.
Police said they were called to the home at 10:56 a.m. May 30 when an 81-year-old woman from Stroudsburg, reported one of her prescriptions, oxycodone acetaminophen, was missing from a package that was delivered by the United Parcel Service to her home.
Police said Geisinger Medical, which shipped the package, has record of one package containing three medications being delivered and received on May 26. The complainant reported only two of the expected medications were in the package.
In other cases, the police are also investigating a burglary that happened between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. June 17 at 377 Devils Hole Road, Paradise Township.
Residents told police someone entered the residence by breaking a back bedroom window and stole jewelry, cash and a Remington 870 pump shotgun.
In addition to the gun and undetermined amount of cash, the $6,600 worth of jewelry that includes five rings, earrings and a necklace and bracelet set, police said.
Police are also investigating the theft of $20 worth of used cooking oil from a container behind Frank’s Pizza, Smithfield Township. The theft was reported at 3:41 p.m. May 29.
Police said the victim is Buffalo Biodiesel, Tonawanda, New York.
They said someone broke the lock on an oil bin and stole the oil.
