July 17, 2011 — Thad Zuber and Zeke Wassell drill back-to-back homers in the first inning to help lift Tamaqua to an 8-4 victory over Franklin Township to capture the District 18 10-11 Little League championship. Zuber’s shot was a two-run blast, while Wassell — who added an RBI triple in the contest — connected for a solo homer. Riley McHugh adds a two-run triple for the winners, coached by Charles Kistler, while Ty Kistler contributes a double and a run. Josh Inama earns the pitching win, going the first 4 1/3 innings. For FT, Johnny Herman and Nolan Wentz both end with a pair of hits.
