Trinity Happenings
Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. 3rd St., Lehighton begins at 9:30 a.m. Included in this time is Installation of Vacation Bible School staff. Synodically Approved Lay Minister Kathy Long presides.

Movie Night in Luther Hall is Saturday, July 20, at 7 p.m. Free admission to view the animated comedy “Shrek.” Popcorn, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase to benefit Youth Group activities. All are invited to attend.
Vacation Bible School with Zion UCC, to be held at Trinity July 22-24, 6-8 p.m. Young people ages 3 through grade 6 are invited to “Start the Party: Celebrate the Good News.” Preregistration is required. Fill out the form in the narthex, or contact the church office or church website. Volunteers are welcome to help. All adult volunteers must have background checks completed.
The Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays (and third Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive supplemental food.

Christ Evangelical
Christ Evangelical Free Church, 2420 Blakeslee Blvd., Dr., West in Lehighton holds weekly worship service beginning at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. There is a morning prayer time at 9:30 a.m.
Sunday school for children and youth every Sunday at 11 a.m., except the first Sunday of the month.
AWANA — Kids Bible Clubs begins in September. It is held every Wednesday at 6 p.m. There are songs, games, Bible memory and lesson. AWANA is open to children ages 3 to 12th grade. To register for the upcoming sessions, visit https://christfc.net/awana-bible-club-2/.
A Prayer Shawl Ministry for those who love to knit and crochet is held the second Saturday of the month from 9 to 11 a.m.
Men’s Ministry is the first and third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m.
A Food Bank takes place the third Saturday of the month from 9 a.m. to noon. Please bring a driver’s license or some other form of ID.
Ladies Bible Study is held every Tuesday at 7 p.m. and every Friday at 10 a.m.

St. John’s
St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mahoning, 826 Mahoning Dr. W., Lehighton will hold worship service at 10:45 a.m. Sunday in Fellowship Hall.
Dinner and Discussion will take place at 6:30 p.m. on July 18.
Dinkey Memorial Church has a food cupboard available to those in need of supplemental food resources. It is available to members of Dinkey Memorial and St. John’s, and to residents of East Penn Township. The distribution is the third Thursday of every month from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Dinkey’s Social Room, located below the sanctuary. If you or anyone you know would benefit from receiving food from the Community Cupboard, please speak with Pastor Tony.
A Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser for North First Street fire victims will be held on July 27, 4-7 p.m. The event is sponsored by St. John’s Lutheran Church & Dinkey Memorial Lutheran Church. The meal includes homemade meatballs, choice of three sauces, salad bar, rolls, beverage and homemade dessert. St. John’s will hold its Community Picnic on Aug. 25 after our joint worship service, from noon to 3 p.m. Congregation members are asked to donate their favorite dessert to share with everyone. Bingo prizes and $25 gift cards are also needed. Donations of Bingo prizes can be placed on the tables in the Sunday school Nursery room; while gift cards can be given to Anne in the church office during her in office hours or given to Cheryl Kistler. All money collected from the Gift Card Raffle will be donated to the Linda Schoenberger Memorial Swim Fund. This fund was started in 2021, in the memory of Linda Schoenberger, to enable lower income families and children the opportunity for a free family season pass to Baer Memorial Swimming Pool.
