State police at Lehighton - crashes

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following crashes:

• Aliyah E. Snyder, 18, of Palmerton, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 12:04 a.m. June 19 on Pohopoco Drive in Franklin Township.

Police said she was transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township.

They said she was driving a 2012 Ford Focus east when she failed to negotiate a left-hand turn in the road. The car went off the southern shoulder, glanced off a utility pole and traveled through heavy brush and wooded area before striking a large tree, coming to rest on a steep embankment against a tree.

Police said Snyder was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.

• No one was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 3:51 p.m. July 7 on Route 903 in Penn Forest Township.

Police said Audrey V. Cornell, 22, of Williamsville, New York, was driving a 2019 Toyota RAV4 northbound when she made a sharp left turn while attempting to turn onto White Birch Drive. They said the RAV4 hit a ditch on the side of the southbound lane.

The vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
