Carbon County’s 325 farmers last year received cash receipts from the sale of their products totaling $1,852,000, the state Department of Agriculture reported today.
The department said the top biggest single income-producer during the year turned out to be poultry and poultry products, which brought in income totaling $752,000 from the county’s farmers.
Next in line insofar as cash receipts were concerned was dairy products, which generated for farmers of the county $311,000.
Other top cash producers were: field crops, $267,000; vegetables and potatoes, $157,000; horticultural specialties, $153,000; meat animals, $147,000; forest products, $30,000; fruits, $20,000; and miscellaneous products, $13,000.
