Mahoning Township supervisors took the following action on Wednesday:
• Approved the Dollar General partial release in the amount of $166,279, leaving an escrow balance of $28,508.
• Advertised an ordinance to reduce the speed limit to 25 mph from Breezewood Drive to Breezewood Road.
• Adopted the Deferred Retirement Option Plan, which is a benefit program that allows members to receive a one-time lump sum payment at the time of their retirement.
• Granted an extension of the BTS commercial subdivision (2-lot subdivision off Mall Lane and Route 443) until Aug. 31. The board also granted several waiver requests associated with the plan.
• Advertised a UCC Appeals Hearing for 6 p.m. Aug. 7 for the Wentz-Yenser Wedding Venue Fire Suppression System.
• Granted conditional approval for the estate of Marie Merluzzi minor subdivision per review letter of June 18.
• Granted a request for a road closure during the “Celebration of Community” event scheduled to be held Sept. 14 at the Mahoning Valley Fire Company.
