Polk picnic
The Polk Township Volunteer Fire Company is hosting its community picnic from 1 to 8 p.m., July 20, with a rain date of July 21.
A DJ will be on from 1 to 4 p.m. and the band, Last One Standing, will play from 4 to 8 p.m.
Available will be picnic foods, BBQ chicken dinner and a pig roast.
In addition, there will be a cake walk and raffles all day.
Community Fest
St. Peter’s UMC, Saylorsburg, will hold its second Annual Community Fest from 3 to
7 p.m., July 20.
The public can connect with local nonprofit organizations for information and services. Children will have a host of activities to engage their creativity and skills. Outdoor Christian music will be supplied by Freely Given and The Make a Joyful Noise Country Gospel Band musicians.
Attendees are asked to bring a lawn chair or blanket.
The church is located next to Dollar General on Rt. 115.
GOP time change
The WE Republican Club will be holding its next regular meeting at 6:30 p.m., July 23, instead of the usual time. The group meets at Cherry’s Family Restaurant in Kresgeville.
Community supper
Zion Lutheran is again serving a free, drive-in, community supper next Wednesday, beginning at 5 p.m.
VBS at PVAG
The Great Journey Vacation Bible School will be held at Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church, Brodheadsville, for children 4 years old to entering 6th grade in the fall.
New bus trip
Kettle Creek Environmental Education Center has announced a new bus trip to the Finger Lakes region of New York from Aug. 27-29.
Attending adventure seekers will be tent camping for two nights and spending the days exploring and swimming near waterfalls, kayaking on a lake, and hiking the Watkins Glen Gorge Trail.
The kayaking and hiking portions of this trip will be moderate in difficulty and are not intended for beginners. The minimum age for this trip is 18.
Space is limited to 11 people.
