July 13, 1976 — Palmerton’s Kevin Zelienka and Steve Kocher, along with Lehighton’s Don Blauch, all earn first-place finishes at the 25th annual B’nai Brith Olympics at Allentown School District Stadium. Kocher gains the top spot in the shot put with a heave of 52-5 1/2 and also takes second in the discus. Zelienka races to victory in the 880, posting a time of 2:09.5. Blauch betters the field in the long jump with a distance of 20-3. Palmerton also receives a second place from Dennis Lentz in the pole vault.
