Franklin Township used a late surge to claim a victory in the Lehigh Valley Junior Connie Mack playoffs Tuesday.

Elsewhere, Towamensing started the Panther Valley Little League Tournament with an impressive win.

Franklin Twp.-E. Stroudsburg

A big seventh inning helped Franklin Township secure an 8-3 win over East Stroudsburg to open the Lehigh Valley Junior Connie Mack playoffs.

Franklin (13-6) scored five runs on three hits in the top of the seventh to blow open a 3-3 game. Cash White had a sacrifice fly that plated two runs in the inning to help for the winners, seeded sixth. White finished with two hits, three RBIs and three stolen bases. Braylon Hunsicker (run scored), Brock Atwood (RBI) and Grant Birnbaum (RBI) each had two hits in the win. Brayden Ulshafer added a triple, RBI and scored twice. White came on in relief and tossed five-and-a-third innings, striking out five while allowing three runs (one earned) to secure the win.

Luke Domboroczky was 2-for-3 with a double, run scored and two stolen bases for East Stroudsburg (15-4), the No. 4 seed.

With the win, Franklin will advance to the semifinals to travel to face No. 2 seed Lehigh-West Bethlehem Thursday at 6 p.m.

9-11 TOURNAMENT

Towamensing-Franklin Twp.

Towamensing opened the Panther Valley 9-11-year-old Little League Tournament with a 13-2 win over Franklin Township.

Bentley Stevens went 4-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and earned the win on the mound for Towamensing. Wesley Good was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs, while Mason Burger added a double and scored a run.

Grant Hunter was 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBIs for Franklin. Carson hopper and Kaiden Klotz each had a hit, and Andrew Rodenbach scored twice.
