PSP Lehighton - incidents

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following incidents:

• An 18-year-old Kunkletown man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 1:57 a.m. July 6.

He was stopped in a 2022 Kia on Interchange Road in Towamensing Township.

• A 23-year-old Lehighton man is facing numerous charges after police conducted a traffic stop at 1:54 a.m. July 6.

He was stopped in a 2014 Ford Explorer on the Mahoning Mountain Road, after which time police charged him with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession of a concealed weapon.

• A 20-year-old Effort man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police conducted a traffic stop at 7:30 p.m. July 5.

He was stopped in a 2010 Mazda 3 on Earl Drive in Chestnuthill Township.

• A 45-year-old Kunkletown man was cited for a Dog Law violation after police were called to 327 Memorial Drive, Polk Township, at 10:20 a.m. July 1 for a dog bite report.

The victim is a 15-year-old girl from Kunkletown. Police said the man’s dog left the property and approached the girl as she walked down the road, biting her on the left hand.

• A 58-year-old man from Nesquehoning is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance after police were called to West Sunset Road, East Penn Township, at 9:16 p.m. June 30.

Police said they were summoned to a welfare check after it was reported the man was acting strange and found him wandering around the area.

• A 23-year-old man from Brooklyn, New York, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after police were called to Interchange Road, Franklin Township, at 5:06 a.m. June 30.

Police said he was observed passed out in the driver’s seat of a 2017 Lexus that was parked on the shoulder of the road.

• A 22-year-old man from Neptune, New Jersey, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 12:18 a.m. June 29.

He was stopped in a 2013 Hyundai Sonata on East Catawissa Street in Nesquehoning.

• A 70-year-old Lehighton man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 10:25 p.m. June 27.

He was stopped in a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado on Fairyland Road in Franklin Township.

• A 40-year-old Lehighton woman was cited for harassment by physical contact after police were called to an incident at 8:57 p.m. June 23 at a home on Britt Drive, East Penn Township.

Police said the victim told police she went to the residence in an attempt to talk to the homeowner about a cellphone, after which time the homeowner left the premises and engaged in physical contact with the victim.

• Megan Oldenburg, 39, of Saylorsburg, was cited for a Dog Law violation after police responded to a complaint at 7:32 p.m. June 23 at the intersection of Tar Run Road and Pohopoco Drive in Towamensing Township.

Police said she was cited after her two dogs were reported to be roaming around a parking lot on Pohopoco Drive without supervision.

• Hubert Debski, 56, of Palmerton, was cited for retail theft after police were called to Country Junction, 6565 Interchange Road, Towamensing Township, at 1:55 p.m. June 21.

Police said he entered the store and took a drill and was observed on camera footage leaving the store without paying for the merchandise.

• Two 81-year-old Palmerton residents are the victims of a theft by deception incident police were called to at 10:47 a.m. June 21 on Pine Street, Bowmanstown.

Police said the couple reported $4,160 was stolen from their bank account by unknown persons.

• A 63-year-old man from Effort is the victim of a theft incident that police were called to Par Drive, Polk Township.

They said between 8 p.m. June 19 and 8 a.m. June 20 someone stole the victim’s wallet worth $35.

• A 37-year-old Walnutport man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 1:57 a.m. June 17.

He was stopped in a 2004 Subaru on Lehigh Drive in Palmerton.

• A 49-year-old Danielsville man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 2:28 a.m. June 15.

He was stopped while operating a 2016 mini-scooter on Little Gap Road, Lower Towamensing Township.

• A 79-year-old Brodheadsville man is the victim of a theft incident police are investigating.

They were called to a home on Blue Ridge Road, Ross Township, where the victim reported between 5 a.m. June 7 and 2 p.m. June 8 someone stole $800 in cash and his 2023 tax documents from his residence.

• Police are investigating a stalking/harassment by following a person that happened at 2:36 p.m. June 7.

They said the complainant from Ore Street in Bowmanstown reported receiving phone calls and unwanted cards/flowers at her employment.
