Palmerton and Northern Valley both picked up wins in Lehigh Valley Senior Connie Mack League action on Monday.

Palmerton downed Coplay, while Northern Valley defeated Freemansburg.

Coplay-Palmerton

Palmerton exploded for seven runs in the fourth inning and went on to post a 12-6 victory over Coplay.

Alex Keiper and Mason Becker both delivered two-run doubles in the fourth to help erase a 3-0 deficit, while Brady Reph and Jared Grammes each contributed RBI singles.

Keiper, Lucian Sterling and Luke Matsko all finished with two hits and two runs for the winners, who improved to 9-7. Becker ended with three RBIs, while Jake Rutkowitz chipped in with a triple, run and RBI.

Grammes picked up the win in relief, pitching five innings and striking out four.

Freemansburg-No. Valley

Kaden Moyer and Landen Cougle both had good offensive games in helping Northern Valley earn an 8-3 victory over Freemansburg.

Moyer collected three hits, scored three times and had an RBI for the winners, who snapped a 3-3 tie with a run in the fifth inning and put the game away with a four-run sixth.

Cougle ended with a pair of hits, one a double, walked twice and knocked in three runs for the Chargers, now 12-2.

Winning pitcher Christopher Vargas added a triple, a run and an RBI. Vargas tossed six innings, walking two and striking out nine.

N. Parkland-Franklin Twp.

Jake Lewis pitched an outstanding game for Franklin Township, but was outdueled by North Parkland’s Sean Fallon during a 1-0 loss.

Lewis tossed a four-hitter, allowing just one walk while striking out nine. After six shutout innings, he gave up a seventh-inning run on a double by Jordan Kuhns.

Fallon, meanwhile, ended with a one-hit shutout. The NP hurler walked a pair and fanned nine in dropping Franklin to 11-5.

Brady Stubits collected the only hit — a third-inning single — for Franklin Township.

The win upped North Parkland to 8-7-1.

THORPE 8U Tournament

Tamaqua-Jim Thorpe

Tamaqua claimed the Jim Thorpe 8U tournament championship by defeating host Jim Thorpe, 7-4, on Friday. Both teams were undefeated entering the championship game.

Luke Tuckett went 3-for-3 with two RBIs to lead Tamaqua. Braxton Barrett, Lucas Brennan and George Pinkey all added two hits for the winners, while Camdyn Lux scored twice.

Barrett was the winning pitcher, striking out three. Tamaqua got huge defensive plays from Max Field, Hunter Hill, Rocco Biasi, Barrett, Brennan and Tuckett.

Jim Thorpe was led by C. McDaniel and Eli Knopf who had two hits apiece. Knopf pitched two scoreless innings on the mound striking out six.

Berlinsville-Martins C.

Martin Creek drilled three home runs, including a grand slam by Andrew Haussman, to gain a 14-3 victory over Berlinsville.

The Creekers (10-7) also received a two-run shot from Matt Rosace and a solo blast from Carson Freeman.

Ben Gagnon and Matt Nunez each had two hits and an RBI for the Braves, now 5-12, who actually outhit their opponent. Owen Ness added a pair of hits and two runs, while Isiah Johnson chipped in with a hit, an RBI and a stolen base.
