Franklin rolls to big win

Franklin Township rolled to an easy win in Senior Connie Mack action.

Franklin Township exploded for 10 runs in the first inning and rolled to a16-2 victory over Northwest in a mercy-rule shortened Lehigh Valley Senior Connie Mack League game on Friday.

Aiden Solt had a big game out of the leadoff spot for Franklin with two hits, three runs scored and three RBIs. He got plenty of help from his teammates as Hunter Kintz (two hits, four RBIs); Cole Dietz (two hits, two runs scored); Brady Stubits (a hit, an RBI, two runs scored); Zoltan Bedocs (a hit, two runs) and Landon Abelovsky (RBI, two runs scored) also played well.

Franklin stole 10 bases in the game, including two each by Solt, Dietz and Abelovsky.

So. Lehigh-Palmerton

A late surge helped Southern Lehigh claim a 12-2 win over Palmerton in Lehigh Valley Senior Connie Mack action Wednesday.

Southern Lehigh (13-1) scored nine runs over the final three innings, including five in the top of the fifth. Dylan Smith had three hits, two RBIs and a run scored for the winners, who took advantage of nine walks and eight Palmerton errors and remained atop the league standings. Matt Hoffman went the distance on the mound, scattering five hits over seven innings with seven strikeouts.

Dylan Sauchinitz, Brady Reph, Luke Matsko, Gaige McGowan (RBI) and Jake Rutkowitz each had a hit for Palmerton (7-7).
