Local roundup: Results from July 2
Northern Valley posted a victory in Sr. Connie Mack League action, while Tamaqua picked up a win in 8U Little League play on Tuesday.

Northern Vy.-Stroudsburg
Northern Valley bounced back from just its second loss of the season with a 7-3 win over Stroudsburg in Lehigh Valley Senior Connie Mack action.
After seeing a nine-game win streak come to an end Monday against South Parkland, Northern Valley (10-2) took command early with five runs in the top of the first inning against Stroudsburg. Parker Schaffer delivered an RBI single, and Jayden Christman came through with a two-run double. Christman finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Cole Dynda added two hits, an RBI and scored twice. Watson Church started and scattered six hits over five innings, striking out three. Dynda struck out three and allowed one hit in two innings of relief.
Ryan Pacitti was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a double for Stroudsburg (6-8-1).

Northampton-Jim Thorpe
Northampton held off Jim Thorpe to claim a 14-10 win in Lehigh Valley Junior Connie Mack play.
Northampton scored six runs on two hits in the top of the second inning, with Logan Rusnock delivering a three-run double and Luke Ventrudo driving in a run with a single. Rusnock and Chasyn Evans each delivered RBI hits in the top of the third, and Northampton (8-10) eventually built a 14-2 lead in the top of the fifth inning. Rusnock finished with four RBIs and two runs scored, while Jacob Betz added two hits, an RBI and scored a run.
Jim Thorpe (2-15) pushed across five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, and scored three in the bottom of the sixth. Blake Skrimcovsky (two runs scored), Marshall Domski (two runs scored) and Jayden Rivera (two RBIs) each had two hits for Jim Thorpe, which out-hit Northampton 11-10 in the contest. Dominic Calcano had a hit, drove in three runs and scored twice.

Jim Thorpe U8 Tournament
Tamaqua-Weatherly
Tamaqua reached the championship game of the Jim Thorpe 8U Tournament by beating Weatherly, 15-0.
George Pinkey led the winners as he went 3-for-3 with two inside-the-park home runs and seven RBIs. Luke Tuckett, Braxton Barrett, Lucas Brennan, Hunter Hill, Mason Keich, and Max Field all added multiple hit games with Brennan also knocking in three runs.
Brennan and Barrett each threw two scoreless innings.
Tamaqua will play Jim Thorpe in the championship game on Friday.
