Hosting TOPS

TOPS will be meeting at 5:30 p.m. today at Salem Lutheran in Kresgeville. The group meets every Wednesday.

Freedom fest today

PV Assembly of God Church will be holding its Freedom Celebration today at 6:30 p.m.

The church will provide the meat, members can bring a side dish, dessert, drinks. Participants are reminded to bring lawn chairs or blanket.

Fish for free

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will host a Fish for Free day. No license is required, but all other fishing regulations are applicable.

Eldred store

The Eldred Township Thrift Store is closed until July 6. The Thrift Store will also be closed the month of August.

Karaoke Night

The Gilbert American Legion will host karaoke night beginning at 7 p.m.

Revelation topic

For the next three Sundays, the sermon topic at Pleasant Valley Presbyterian in Brodheadsville will be based on the book of Revelation. The service begins at 10 a.m.

Rosary bonfire

A Family Rosary bonfire will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church at the fire pit behind the pavilion for s’mores, games and the rosary, on Sunday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Bring a friend, your family, and a chair or blanket.

Bingo night

It’s open-to-the public bingo night on Monday at the American Legion in Gilbert. Ticket sales begin at 6:30 p.m. Games at 7 p.m.

OTOH meeting

Operation Touch of Home will meet at the Brodheadsville Legion at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

QV July camps

Two more camp sessions are scheduled at Quiet Valley for this summer.

Farm Explorers will run from July 8 to July 12.

Nature Explorers Camp will be held July 15 through July 19.

Pocono Race

With the Pocono Race being held July 12-14, Operation Touch of Home will be on-site to spread the word of its services to the troops.

Hours are 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 12; 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 13 and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 14.

Nature walk set

A Nature Walk by Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will be held at the West End Regional Park, near Effort, next Saturday.

Ross Fishing event

The 2024 Ross Township Fishing Tournament will take place on July 13 and 14 at Evergreen Park.

Missionary tour

The MJM7Band will begin its summer missionary tour on July 14, at the Parish Feast Day, at St. Anthony in Effingham, Ill.

The Feast Day, at Our Lady Queen of Peace, includes an 11 a.m. Mass, Procession of Mary, picnic in the Pavilion, music and entertainment. Participants are asked bring an image or statue of Mary.

Blood drive set

A blood drive to benefit the American Red Cross will be held from 1 to 6 p.m., July 16, at Our Lady Queen of Peace’s Parish Hall in Gilbert.

Polk picnic

The Polk Volunteer Fire Company is hosting its fire company community picnic from 1 to 8 p.m., July 20. The rain date is July 21.

There will be entertainment and picnic foods, including a BBQ chicken dinner and a pig roast.

There will be a cake walk and raffles all day.

Lunch reminder

Free summer meal for kids are available from the PVEN Food Pantry Thursdays from 8 to 11 a.m., through Aug. 15.

Drive through PVEN any Thursday to pick up five days of free for your children. Just tell the PVEN how many children you have.
