Tamaqua adult center serves area residents

The board of directors of the Tamaqua Area Adult Day Care Center met recently and noted that all business transactions for June have been completed and the center is in good financial health.

The center, which is a Schuylkill United Way partner, had a new HVAC system installed in time for the recent heat wave.

It was noted that there are openings for new clients, including Carbon County residents.

Clients enjoy holiday and seasonal crafts, specialty days, light exercise, bingo and other games.

Guests can also relax and enjoy the view from the large windows at the 801 E. Broad St. facility.

The center is open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

A typical day begins with breakfast at 9 a.m., group activities from 10 to 11 a.m., free time or more activities from 11 a.m. to noon, lunch at noon, and snack time and activities at 2 p.m.

The center also provides hairdresser services each Monday.

Clients may sign up for the entire week or single days as needed.

Transportation is provided by STS and LANTA.

For more information, stop by or call 570-668-6556. The director will answer questions and provide information on available benefits and requirements.

The center is selling Kauffman’s chicken dinner tickets with pickup from 4-6 p.m. Aug. 29.

Advance tickets only by calling the center.
