Fireworks and Independence Day activities

Carbon County

• Lehighton Downtown Initiative fireworks display at 10 p.m. Thursday, July 4 along Sgt. Stanley Hoffman Boulevard. The fireworks will be displayed from the rear parking area of the Lehighton Outdoor Center. Food and beverages available. Lehighton Parks and Recreation Committee will also be having a block party from noon-10 p.m. in the Lehighton Lower Park. They will have food, music, games and more.

• Penn Forest Community Day and fireworks, 5 to 10 p.m. at the recreational park, Route 903. Food available. Live music, bounce house.

Emerald

• Emerald Fire Company will have its picnic and fireworks Saturday. Refreshments stands open at 4:30 p.m. Music by the Mississippi Pig Farmers at 7 p.m. Fireworks at 10:30 p.m. Parking and walk-in fees. 7700 Penn St., Slatington.

Hazleton

• Hazleton’s Independence Day Celebration, City View Park, 700 South Poplar St., Hazleton, 4 to 11 p.m. Saturday, with fireworks, live music, food trucks, adult beverages, carnival games, vendors. Bring chairs or blankets or sit under one of six covered pavilions.

Lehigh Valley

• Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom fireworks on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The shows are set to start each night at 9:30 p.m. and will incorporate dazzling lights and patriotic sounds.

• ArtsQuest Independence Day activities presented by Embassy Bank, including a full day of musical events, crafts, delicious food vendors and more. Festivities will begin Thursday, at 3 p.m. and take place at the ArtsQuest campus at SteelStacks, offering a perfect spot to view Bethlehem’s fireworks display at 9 p.m.

• Woodstone Independence Day celebration, starting at 4 p.m. Friday. Festivities run from 4-10 p.m. and include great food, helicopter rides, hot air balloons, obstacle courses, kid’s games, a 70 foot slip and slide, zip lining, ax throwing, and mechanical bull riding. Buy tickets in advance or at the gate. Ticket prices do not include food and beverages, helicopter rides, or hot air balloon rides. 3777 Dogwood Road, Danielsville.

• Bear Creek Mountain Resort annual fireworks and concert featuring Mason Porter Wednesday. The band goes on at 7 p.m. and fireworks are at 10 p.m. Family friendly event, outdoor event. Food available. Parking charge per car. 101 Doe Mountain Lane, Macungie.

• Great American Blast at Coca-Cola Park, July 4. Gates open at 6 p.m. for the IronPigs’ “The Great American Blast” presented by TD Bank. Fireworks will be shot off from the field of Coca-Cola Park. Guests may be on the field before the show begins before taking seats by 8:45 p.m. Fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m. Parking and entrance charge. Picnic basket available.

• Allentown 4th of July Celebration: The City of Allentown’s free 4th of July Celebration is at J. Birney Crum Stadium on July 4 from 5-10 p.m. The event features live music and entertainment, family fun, food and musical fireworks show. The stadium gates open at 5 p.m. The night will be capped by a brilliant fireworks display that is sure to dazzle the audience. The fireworks show will be accompanied by music broadcast throughout the stadium at 9 p.m.

• Bethlehem plans to launch Fireworks from Sand Island on July 4 at dusk (around 9 p.m.). The fireworks can be seen all over the city or from various vantage points on SouthSide Bethlehem like from SteelStacks. Catch the Allentown Band Independence Day Concert at Levitt Pavilion at 7:30 p.m. to get in the patriot spirit before the fireworks.

Monroe County

• Camelbeach: Visitors welcome to join the festivities at 7 p.m. Thursday. Shuttles will be available from Camelback Lodge to Camelbeach. Monetary donations to support local township fire companies. Cash or credit.

Note: Entrance to Big Pocono State Park will end at 6 p.m. and the park will close at sunset. This is to ensure the safety of our guests and community. If you wish to enjoy the Fireworks show the best view will be from Camelbeach, complimentary entrance starts at 7 p.m.

• Shawnee Fireworks Display: Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Friday, with fireworks at sundown

Entrance fees are a donation to the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Co. #36.

Schuylkill County

• Frackville Little League/Softball Complex, 301 W. High St, Frackville. Community groups will be set up for an evening filled with food and fun, beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday. End the night watching our annual display. Rain date Friday.

• Saint Clair Car Cruise Saturday in downtown Saint Clair.

Car cruise registration is 3 to 6 p.m. Car cruise takes place from 6 to 7 p.m. with awards announced at 7:15 p.m. Fireworks to be held around 9 p.m.

• Schuylkill Haven Fireworks, Island Park, Broadway St., Schuylkill Haven on Saturday.

Food trucks and live music plus flag football and softball games on fields leading up to fireworks. Fireworks display will be held at Island Park at dusk

• Yuengling Starts and Stripes Festival, downtown Pottsville. Free concert with Lee Brice and festival, ending with fireworks.

Festivities begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, live musical at 11:30, ending with Lee Brice at 8 p.m. Fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
