For the second time in a week, the beach at Tuscarora State Park in Barnesville has been closed to swimming.

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources closed the beach Tuesday due to resampling requirements.

As a precaution, the beach will remain closed until acceptable water samples are received.

The beach, along with the beach at Locust Lake State Park in Barnesville, were closed on June 25. Both were shut down to swimming for a few days but reopened for the weekend.

Locust Lake remains open.

DCNR has posted signs at Tuscarora. Other activities at Tuscarora State Park, such as camping, picnicking, hiking and fishing are proceeding as usual.
