State police at Fern Ridge - crashes

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following crashes:

* Leroy S. Bonser II, 64, of Saylorsburg, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 7:01 p.m. June 6 on Route 715 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he was driving a 2017 GMC Sierra southbound when a deer entered the roadway from the left shoulder. Police said he attempted to avoid striking the deer, which caused the Sierra to leave the roadway and strike the guide rail on the right side of the road.

The vehicle had disabling damages, police said.

• Two vehicles were damaged in a mishap at 1:26 p.m. June 25 at the intersection of Pleasant Lane and Highview Drive in Chestnuthill Township. No one was injured in the incident.

Police said a 2016 Honda Odyssey traveling east on Highview Drive went through a stop sign and struck a 2007 Honda Santa Fe.

Police did not identify the drivers of the vehicles but said the driver of the Odyssey was cited for obedience to traffic control devices.

• Police investigated a hit-and-run crash at 9:02 p.m. May 30 on Mountain Road in Jackson Township.

They said an unidentified vehicle struck a mailbox at the base of the driveway at 2562 Mountain Road. They said it appeared the driver overcompensated during a curve. The mailbox was destroyed, police said.

* Richard Faryna, 56, of Northampton, was cited after a one-vehicle accident at 10:35 a.m. June 20 on Route 534 in Penn Forest Township.

Police said he was driving a 2007 Honda CRV that was traveling north when the car left the roadway and struck an embankment. It continued north off the shoulder of the road and came to rest in a wooded area, coming to contact with multiple trees. The Honda was towed from the scene.

Police said Faryna was uninjured.
