SS. Peter and Paul parish

Saints Peter and Paul Parish, 260 N. Third St., Lehighton, announced the following schedule:

Services

• The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is offered on the Lord’s Day with the Rev. Christopher M. Zelonis, assisted by Deacon Joseph C. Wilhelm Jr., throughout the year at 4 p.m. on Saturdays and 7:45 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Sundays.

Daily Masses are at 8 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. We welcome you, or welcome you back, to worship the Lord at our parish.

• The Eucharist is exposed for personal prayer from noon to 9 p.m. every Thursday. We particularly need adorers between 5 and 7 p.m.

• The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) is available from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursdays, from 7:15 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Fridays, and for about 30 minutes before Masses on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

• Families get together to pray the Scriptural Rosary at 6:30 p.m. every third Friday of the month in the hall.

Help available

• Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Allentown is accepting appointments and walk-ins from 9 to 2:30 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday at the parish convent building. Services include individual, marriage, and family counseling; pregnancy and parenting support (counseling, material assistance such as diapers, wipes, baby items); and supportive services (case management, material assistance, emergency rental assistance, referrals).

Our parish’s Saint Vincent de Paul Society hosts “Vincent’s Closet” by appointment in our former convent building on 242 N. Third Street. The society offers clothing and toiletries for those in need and seeks donations of the same. Call the rectory for more information.

Coming up

• The Knights of Columbus Damien Council #598 meets at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month in our parish hall, followed by the Msgr. Agnello Angelini Assembly of the Fourth Degree Knights at 7:30 p.m. The next meeting is on July 2.

• The fourth annual “Backyard Bash” is taking place from 4 to 9 p.m. on June 28 and from 5 to 9:30 p.m. on June 29. There will be food, entertainment, cakewalk, watermelon eating contest and children’s games. Participate in the “Summer Sweepstakes” raffle with cash prizes, or take a chance to win a kid’s electric bike, courtesy of Blocker Enterprises. Raffle tickets are available after masses and at the rectory.
