Mr. and Mrs. Merritt H. Berger of Palmerton celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary earlier this month.

The couple was married on June 18, 1949, in Palmerton.

Mrs. Berger is the former Arlene V. Livengood, daughter of the late Mary (Christman) and Harvey Livengood of Walnutport.

Mr. Berger is the son of the late Emma (Haydt) and James Berger of Trachsville.

The couple had three children, Drinda (John) Greene and Darrell Berger, both deceased; and Todd (Diane) Berger of Kunkletown. They also have six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

To celebrate the milestone, the couple’s family held a surprise anniversary party in their honor.
